How do I go about installing the inverter?
First determent what you would like to back up.
If it is only your computer in your Office or TV, that is easy, the inverter sits nicely on a shelf or hidden with it's battery below on the floor.
when it comes to back up two sets of circuits, office, TV in living room, that is in most cases also not too bad, ( keeping in mind we don't want to push the unit with it's heavy battery around ( 20 Kg ).
In most cases you can back feed your own power from wherever your unit is, back over your own electrical supply-you just have to switch the relevant fuse off in your electrical fuse box, that is the Eskom power down situation.
There are many scenarios where your converter could sit, since I am not a lover of cables laying around, it is always best to find first the strategic right position for your unit.
